A 1996 vintage bottling of Longrow's 10 year old whisky, the peatier dram distilled at Springbank. A balanced sweet and smokey dram with a hint of brine.
The jewel of Campbeltown, Springbank distillery was founded in 1828 & performs every step of the whisky making process - from malting the barley, through to brewing, distilling, ageing & bottling.
Springbank produce three distinct styles of single malt alongside a myriad of cask finishes - Longrow is their heavily peated expression, Hazelburn is a triple distilled malt & Springbank is a lightly peated, "two-and-a-half" times distilled dram.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Sweet vanilla, dried fruit, straw, gentle smoke.
Taste: Wet wool, oak, phenols, tar, salt.
Finish: Sweet peat lingers, mouthfilling, more-ish.
