The Jameson Caskmates series was born in 2013 over drinks at a local bar in County Cork, Ireland when two longtime friends, Dave Quinn, Master of Whiskey Science at Jameson Distillery and Shane Long the Head Brewer at a local brewery decided to swap barrels. A suggestion soon became an experiment and the Jameson Stout &IPA Editions were created. Jameson Caskmates is for the curious drink who is looking for a unique yet premium product experience. Jameson IPA Edition is Jameson Original finished off in craft Irish Pale Ale barrels for an additional 4 months, giving floral and citrus notes for a light, crisp finish.Â
Tasting NotesÂ
Nose – Floral, herbal hops, grapefruit citrus, with subtle orchard fruits. Complemented by wood shavings and a little nuttiness.Â
Taste – Hops and light citrus, with sweet herbal notes and ever so slight spicy tones.Â
Finish – The lingering fresh fruit and hops give way to crisp barley and as ever, a signature smooth finish. Â
