ABOUT LAPHROAIG
Laphroaig is a distillery whose malts are massively individual and utterly distinctive. The distillery was founded in 1810 by brothers Donald and Alexander Johnston on what was originally a family run farm in a small bay on the southernmost tip of Islay. Laphroaig’s unique flavour comes in part from its vicinity to the coast and the high moss content of its peat, which is processed in the distillery’s own floor maltings.

Laphroaig 10YO
The Laphroaig 10 Year Old is the original Laphroaig, distilled the same way today as when Ian Hunter invented it more than 75 years ago. It is the foundation of all other Laphroaig expressions.
Laphroaig Select
This Laphroaig is created from carefully selected casks of each of our key styles. Mostly, these are historic styles, with one notable addition: the heart of the spirit is drawn from a final maturation in American oak casks – rarely used for scotch whisky.
Laphroaig Quarter Cask
This expression offers an irresistible doubling of flavour due to the double maturation in two casks made of American oak.
Laphroaig Lore
As the name suggests, this new offering from Laphroaig is inspired by the knowledge and traditions passed down from generation to generation of its distillery managers, blenders and craftsmen.
Laphroaig Triple Wood
Triple Wood is an extension of the Quarter Cask expression and is special for its triple maturation, which creates a unique blend of our signature peat-smoked liquid with softer notes of fruit and spices. First maturing in ex-bourbon barrels, second maturation in quarter casks and then a third maturation in European oak casks previously used for Oloroso sherry.
Laphroaig PX Cask
THE FIRST LAPHROAIG SINGLE MALT TO BE FINISHED IN PX CASKS
The first maturation of this special expression is in ex-bourbon barrels, followed by transfer to quarter casks. The third maturation is in large European oak casks, which originally contained rare Pedro Ximénez sherry.
