This elegant 12 year old single malt is finished in three different styles of aged oloroso sherry casks, balancing nutty flavours with sweet Pedro Ximénez influence.
The story
Under the watchful eye of our Master Distiller, the spirit is initially matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks. This gives its first base of soft vanilla and honey notes. The whisky is then finished in casks having held three different styles of oloroso sherry, from a nuttier style made purely of Palomino to a sweeter style with a proportion of Pedro Ximénez. Each sherry cask gifts the whisky with its own individual characteristics and flavours.
Tasting notes
The aroma: Caramelised orange, ginger and sultanas, laced with honey
On the palate: Dark chocolate and crushed almonds with a dusting of cinnamon
Finishing notes: Sweet mangos, panna cotta and lemon sponge cake
