Hey there, Upper East Siders! I mean… Boozy Readers.

We’re here to let you in for a treat. In case you haven’t heard, there is a new reboot of our all-time favorite teen drama, Gossip Girl. Is it too soon for GG to do a reboot? It’s only been 14 years. Some fans say there’s no way ANYONE can replace Queen B. While some fans agree that this reboot could be even better. If GG was crazy back then, what more now in this age of social media?

We hear different reactions towards this reboot so we decided to blend in your mixed feelings with these mixed drinks. In this article, we matched the O.G. characters with different cocktails based on their personality:

1. Soju Sunrise x Serena van der Woodsen

Soju Sunrise x Serena van der Woodsen

Serena is everything like a Soju Sunrise. Free-spirited, a bit naïve, innocent yet filled with madness. Just like a glass of Soju Sunrise, that’s sweet at first until after a glass or two, Serena’s charms can be deceiving. She’s known to be completely different from Blair - “Not everyone wants to be Blair Waldorf,” she says.

But dating her professor, making out with her best friend’s boyfriend at a party, and a long list of ex-lovers? This girl is everything but innocent yet packaged as your sweet girl next door. To make a Soju Sunrise, you’ll need some orange juice, three shots of Soju, and orange slices. Blend it together and you’ve got Serena van der Woodsen in a glass - sweet yet feisty.

2. Manhattan x Chuck Bass

Manhattan x Chuck Bass

“8 letters, 3 words… Say it and I’m yours.”

A Manhattan cocktail is something you’d order in Chuck Bass’s Palace Hotel. If you’re looking for a strong cocktail with bittersweet flavors, a Manhattan cocktail is the way to go. It’s a multidimensional drink with very little sweetness similar to Chuck Bass.

Chuck Bass is definitely multi-dimensional. Throughout the whole series, he goes through the most character development. At the start, he’s known as the bad boy of the Upper East Side, until he’s called to handle his father's empire while going through a rollercoaster of ups and downs with Blair, there’s definitely more to Chuck Bass than meets the eye.

3. Aperol Spritz: The Perfect Summer Drink x Blair Waldorf

Aperol Spritz: The Perfect Summer Drink x Blair Waldorf

An Aperol Spritz is fine and daintily made from Italy just like Queen B. Italy is known to be the capital of luxury, art, and culture, all of which Blair Waldorf embodies. “Whoever says that money can’t buy happiness obviously didn’t know where to shop,” as she puts it.

Aperol Spritz is known to be “Italy’s drink”. It’s made as a 3-2-1 mix of Prosecco, two parts of Aperol, and one splash of soda water, garnished with an orange slice. It’s a beautiful summer-colored drink served in a fine wine glass. This is a delicious drink blended with bitter flavors, sweet hints of orange, and a light tang of herbs. The Prosecco gives it a crisp and bubbly refreshing taste.

4. Sidecar x Dan Humphrey

Sidecar x Dan Humphrey

Oh, lonely boy… Dan Humphrey starts out as an outsider, or shall I say sidecar? “You’re no one until you’re talked about.” until he dates Serena van der Woodsen, one of the hottest girls in Constance.

A sidecar cocktail, just like Dan Humphrey, is the perfect blend of sweet and sour. Throughout the series, you aren’t sure whether Dan is sweet or sour (especially after the revelation at the end!). He presents himself as a ‘sadboi’. Someone who would rather spend time in coffee shops reading than attending parties, someone eloquent and deep… until he reveals himself in the end.

Blair was usually painted as the “villain” of the show but Dan was the one that caused a lot of drama. He’s intelligent, poetic, with a huge sense of justice but some of his decisions are quite questionable at times.

Follow our recipe to learn how to make this perfect aperitif cocktail.

5. 3 Step Beer Punch x Nate Archibald

3 Step Beer Punch x Nate Archibald

Besides the fact that Nate loves beer, Nate is a personified version of the three-step beer punch cocktail. Simple yet refreshing. Nate’s character is warm and caring. He’s a loyal friend who often tries to do what’s right compared to his friends. Not to mention, he’s extremely attractive who embodies a summer cocktail.

Nate Archibald once said: “You don’t give up just because things are hard.” He’s right. All you need is a three-step beer punch cocktail. The 3 Step Beer Punch is a perfect summer drink. All you need to make this drink are ginger ale, beer, pineapple juice, and some fresh pineapples to garnish. It’s a must-try drink perfect to beat the heat.

6. Kahlua Cold Brew x Rufus Humphrey

Kahlua Cold Brew x Rufus Humphrey

Rufus Humphrey, Rockstar musician and art gallery owner in Brooklyn is similar to a Kahlua Cold Brew. A Kahlua Cold Brew cocktail is a sophisticated yet approachable cocktail just like Rufus’ personality. His character is probably the one that’s involved with the least scandal; except of course dating the mother of his son’s girlfriend…

He and Lily have a long history together and their love story is definitely worth watching. Despite many other girls trying to flirt with him, Rufus stays as chill as a Kahlua because his heart has always been with Lily. “I never should have let you let me go.”

To make a Kahlua Cold Brew, you will need to mix 1 part Kahlua, 3 parts cold brew, and lemon to garnish. If you’re a coffee-lover, you will definitely love this drink.

7. Old Fashioned 101 x Bart Bass (Bart Bass)

Old Fashioned 101 x Bart Bass (Bart Bass)

Bart Bass is a fine gentleman, beau of Lily van der Woodsen, and father of Chuck Bass. He is a real estate businessman who leads Bass Industries with properties all over the world. He’s old-fashioned just like the cocktail – rich, smooth, silky equivalent as a drink for men who aspire to have net worth much like Bart Bass’s.

“I can buy anything. It’s one of the perks of being really rich.”

8. Midnight Sangria x Lily van der Woodsen

Midnight Sangria x Lily van der Woodsen

A midnight Sangria best matches Lily van der Woodsen’s style – timeless and classic. We all love Sangrias and they’re considered one of the most popular drinks that stand the test of time just like Lily’s beauty that captivate the hearts of men namely Rufus, Bass, and Serena’s father, William. Not to mention, she is also a lover of hosting parties and there’s no better drink to serve than a classic Midnight Sangria. It’s everyone’s favorite.

Lily: “If this is how you’re acting now, I would’ve insisted on a structure years ago.”

Serena: “You mean three husbands ago?”

To make this Sangria, you will need Cabernet Sauvignon, sugar, vodka, blackberries, oranges, and lime, mix together and you have a fine drink that’s perfect for events like the ones that Lily throws.

9. Negroni x Dorota

Negroni x Dorota

This drink is a perfect drink for loyal women like Dorota. At the start of the series, we see how Blair’s issues and rants in life clearly affect Dorota. “Miss Blair, I unfriend Mr. Chuck on Facebook and in life,” a Negroni and Dorota have a lot in common, both have a strong personality but will always be there to listen, support, and sometimes, advice.

To make a Negroni, you will need some Campari, Gin, and Vermouth. If you are into bitter flavors, this one’s for you. Dorota’s unexplored character, at the start, comes off bitter and headstrong but eventually, we see how attached and how much of a family member she is in the Waldorf Household.

We know you love us. XOXO Boozy.
